La Combe Farinelle (farmhouse) and La Murisserie (gite) are situated at the end of a tiny lane on the edge of the hamlet of Le Bouis. Both properties have been renovated by artists and enjoy magnificent views. They are light and airy and full of character, with polished wooden floors, stone flags, local terracotta tiles and chestnut beams. They are well equipped with books, games, tapes, videos and CDs.
There is a barn which provides shady car parking and table tennis, and an orchard garden which is perfect for snoozing in hammocks after a long lazy lunch on the terrace. Wonderful walks lead straight from the door and there is river bathing, riding and tennis nearby, as well as several excellent restaurants. The properties also provide the perfect base from which to explore this little-known but fascinating region. Montpellier and the sea is an hour and a halfs drive to the south and Albi a similar distance to the west. Millau and canoeing in the Gorges du Tarn are one hour to the north, and Sylvanes Abbey, with its internationally renowned summer music festival, is just a 15 minutes drive.
