30 minutes inland from the Costa de Sol beaches and 40 minutes drive from historic Gibraltar. Many golf courses within short driving distance.
The ground floor consisting of 2 bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom, the other with an adjacent bathroom, kitchen/dining/lounge etc., is available for 5/6 people, with exclusive use of garden & pool. The 1st. floor is an optional extra for large family parties or friends sharing and consists of 2 bedrooms, bathroom and small kitchen/dining room, making the whole residence suitable for up to 10 people.

Festivities

At Jimena de la Frontera.

August Fair
Since 1842, this traditional Feria has taken place in mid-August. It consist principally of several days of cultural, sporting and leisure activities, including the crowning of the Queens of the Fair, dances and music, both traditional and modern.

May Fair
An agricultural and livestock fair which takes place around the middle of May. Around the fair ground there is much trading of the livestock brought in for the purpose, as well as horse training competitions and other sporting and cultural activities. The nights are for music and dancing in the municipal pavilion.

At San Pablo de Buceite
Coinciding with the feast of the Patron Saint, on the 29th. June, the local Feria takes on a more religious overtone, which includes a Sunday peregrination on foot or horseback, as well as divers sporting and cultural activities.

At San Martin del Tesorilla
This local Feria takes place around the time of Corpus Cristi in conjunction with the religious festivities implied by that date. Here also there is a Sunday peregrination, as well as the crowning of the Infant and Young Queens of the Fair, and sporting and cultural activities.

At Estacion de Jimena
During the last days of the Novena and coinciding with the procession of our Patron Saint, Our Lady queen of Angels, this fair includes a Gastronomic competition of long tradition, sport and dancing, as well as the annual Flamenco Festival, which is growing in importance with regional aficionados.

Carnival
Carnival is celebrated between February and March at each of the municipal towns, and include performances by all the Carnival groups in the region, with competitions and much fun. The Carnival at San Pablo de Buceite renowned within the entire Province and begins with performances by all the local groups, dances and costume competitions. It ends with a Tagarnia, a popular dish based on thistles, as well as performances by many regional and provincial carnival groups. At this same place, there is also a Carnival Night in mid-August.

Gastronomy:
While the rich variety of Andalucian cooking is available at any time here, most traditional dishes are served using excellent local produce. Here are some examples: Piriaca, a salad based on tomato, onions , peppers and cucumber dressed with olive oil, salt and vinegar. Salmorejo, Potatoes boiled with onions and parsley and served with olive oil, salt and vinegar. Olla de Tagarninas, a stew based on edible thistles and chickpeas. Olla de Coles, another of an infinite variety of stews, this one based on cabbage, chickpeas and pork. Guiso de Pata, chickpeas, sausages, pork trotters and belly, spices and herbs. Asadura en Manteca, a spread made of liver, pork, lard and spices. Carne en Adobo, pork macerated with various spices and vinegar. Chicharrones, pieces of pork and pork skin fried in garlic, laurel and salt. Caracoles, which are snails cooked in a sauce of peppers, tomato, onion, garlic, spices and aromatic herbs. Moruna, a fry-up of tomatoes, sardines, peppers, onions, olive oil, peppered vinegar and herbs. Sopa de Esprrogos, a soup made from wild asparagus and bread. Gazpachuelo, another soup traditionally based on mayonnaise. Gazpacho Caliente, a hot soup made by mashing tomato, cucumber, olive oil, spices, garlic, bitter orange, bread and salt, in a round bowl traditionally made of ash wood. Some more names to conjure with: Gachas, a thin paste based on pork. Compota de Membrillo, quince compote. Torrijas, bread fried with egg. Our forests are a natural place to pick wild mushrooms, for instance, to be included in a variety of omelettes and stews. And then there is Pionate, a legacy from the Moorish period, the typical local sweet made with flour, egg, olive oil, honey, liqueur, almonds, pine nuts, ajonjoli, cinnamon, cloves, other herbs and orange peel.
