Local amenities The local towns of Laroles and Ugijar have bars, restaurants and supermarkets, with the bars offering traditional tapas when ordering alcoholic drinks. Our contact who will meet you on arrival in Mareina is Peter Cooper.. Please forward your mobile no. beforehand to ensure contact is made. The village also has a local shop near the church with locally made bread available from from the village hall each morning. Fish deliveries are also made twice a week.
Places to go There is a mountain pass called La Ragwa [7000 ft] only 20 minutes drive with fabulous views on both sides with a restaurant and picnic areas, a day out not to be missed. The pass leads down to a motorway link with the town of Quadix, famous for its pottery, [1hours journey] certainly worth a visit. The historic city of Granada with its Alhambra palace lies on the same motorway link [1 1/2hours] is a day trip, a must in your itinerary, where traditional crafts still go on.
Skiing Information During winter months there are possibilities for skiing, sledging and cross country skiing in the mountain area behind the property [25mins to the nearest peak-La Ragua]. Skis and sledges are available to hire from the restaurant area. A journey of 1 1/2 hours takes you to the excellent winter ski centre of Granada with its own ski village and is excellent for all including beginners. Bedroom Information
